Questions people ask
How is GPA calculated?
GPA = sum of (grade points × credits) ÷ total credits. A 4-credit B+ (3.3) and a 3-credit A (4.0) give (13.2 + 12) ÷ 7 = 3.60.
How do I work out cumulative GPA?
Multiply your previous GPA by your previous credits to get past grade points, add this term's grade points, and divide by all credits combined. 3.2 over 45 credits plus a 3.6 term over 15 credits gives (144 + 54) ÷ 60 = 3.30.
Is an A+ worth 4.0 or 4.3?
On most 4.0 scales an A+ counts as 4.0. Some universities give 4.3. This calculator uses 4.0 for A+, so check your school's handbook if it uses a different scale.
