About this tool
This scientific calculator handles trigonometry in degrees or radians, logarithms, powers, roots, factorials and constants such as π and e. Type a full expression with your keyboard or use the buttons. A history list keeps your recent results.
How to use Scientific Calculator
- Type an expression or tap the buttons.

Questions people ask
What order of operations does it use?
Standard maths order: brackets, then powers and factorials, then multiplication, division and remainder, then addition and subtraction. Powers group from the right, so 2^3^2 = 2^9 = 512. A number next to a bracket or function multiplies, so 2(3+1) = 8 and 2sin(30) = 1 in degrees.
What is the difference between log and ln?
log is the base-10 logarithm, so log(1000) = 3. ln is the natural logarithm with base e (about 2.71828), so ln(e) = 1. For another base, use log(x) ÷ log(base).
How do I find a cube root or nth root?
Use the ∛ key or cbrt(27) = 3 for cube roots. For any root, raise to a fractional power: the 4th root of 81 is 81^(1/4) = 3. Square roots use √ or sqrt().
