Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information CozyToolz (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit https://cozytoolz.com (the “site”), how we use it and the choices you have. We wrote it to be short and readable.

The short version

  • Files you open in our PDF, image, video and audio tools are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to us and we never see them.
  • Text you type into our text, developer and calculator tools also stays in your browser.
  • We do not ask you to create an account and we do not sell personal data.
  • Our hosting provider and, if enabled, our advertising and analytics partners process limited technical data, as described below.

Files and content you use with our tools

Our tools run on your own device using JavaScript, WebAssembly and standard browser features. When you choose a file, your browser reads it into memory and creates the result locally. Closing or reloading the page clears it. We have no copy of your files and cannot recover them for you.

A few tools download extra code or data so they can run on your device. The background remover and the image-to-text (OCR) tool download a machine-learning model or language data from a public content delivery network the first time you use them. Only the model is downloaded. Your image is not sent anywhere. The YouTube thumbnail tools load public images from YouTube’s image servers (img.youtube.com), which means YouTube receives a normal image request from your browser.

Some everyday tools, such as the notepad, to-do list and invoice generator, save your work in your browser’s local storage so it is still there next time. That data stays on your device. You can delete it by clearing the tool or your browser’s site data.

Information collected automatically

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and produce aggregate traffic statistics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We may use privacy-friendly analytics to see which tools are popular and which pages have errors. This data is aggregated. It never includes the contents of files or text you use with our tools.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use browser storage for a few essential settings, such as your light or dark theme choice. These are not used for tracking. Read our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Advertising

CozyToolz currently runs without ads. If we enable advertising, we may work with partners such as Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to show ads and measure their performance.

  • If Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
  • If advertising is enabled, visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice through the “Privacy settings” link when it is shown.

Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

We process technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Advertising cookies and personalised ads are used only with your consent where the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not run accounts or receive your files, we usually hold no personal data that identifies you. If you email us, we keep your message only as long as needed to answer it.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information for money. Advertising partners may collect identifiers such as cookie IDs for ad purposes. You can opt out using the links in the Advertising section or your browser’s Global Privacy Control setting.

Children

CozyToolz is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Some pages link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
