Questions people ask
How do I calculate an overnight shift?
Enter the start and end time as normal, for example 22:00 and 06:30. When the end time is earlier than the start, the calculator assumes it is the next day and returns 8:30:00, which is 8.5 decimal hours.
How do I convert minutes to decimal hours for a timesheet?
Divide the minutes by 60. So 7 hours 45 minutes is 7 + 45 ÷ 60 = 7.75 hours. The calculator shows decimal hours next to every duration.
Can the add/subtract part go past midnight?
Yes. If the result goes past midnight it shows the clock time with "+1 day" (or "−1 day" when subtracting), and the total is also shown as a plain duration.
