How can I keep the GIF small?

Use a short clip, 10 fps and 320–480 px width. File size grows with width × height × frames, so halving the width cuts size by about 75%.

What is the longest GIF I can make?

Up to 30 seconds. GIFs longer than 5–10 seconds get large quickly, so a video file is often the better choice for long clips.

Why do colours look a little different?

GIF frames can hold only 256 colours. The tool picks the best 256 colours for each frame, which can cause slight banding in gradients.
