Does muting reduce video quality?

No. The video frames are copied directly into a new file without re-encoding, so the picture is identical.

Will the file get smaller?

Yes, slightly. The audio track usually takes 5–10% of a video file, at about 1 MB per minute for 128 kbps audio.

Which formats does it keep?

MP4 and MOV files are saved as MP4. WebM and MKV files are saved as WebM.
