How to use Video Trimmer

  1. Choose a video file.
  2. Set the start and end, and press “Play selection” to check.
  3. Press “Trim video” and download the clip.

Questions people ask

Is trimming lossless?

By default the video is copied without re-encoding, so quality stays the same and it is fast. The cut then snaps to the nearest keyframe, which can be up to a few seconds off.

How do I get a frame-exact cut?

Tick “Frame-exact cut”. The clip is re-encoded so it starts exactly where you set it. This takes longer.

Can I set the points while watching?

Yes. Pause the player where you want and press “Start = playhead” or “End = playhead”.
