About this tool
Video Compressor shrinks large video files so they fit email limits, chat apps or upload caps. Choose a quality level and an output resolution and it re-encodes the video to MP4. Your files are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
How to use Video Compressor
- Choose a video file.
- Pick a quality preset and a resolution.
- Press “Compress video” and download the smaller MP4.
Questions people ask
How much smaller will my video get?
It depends on the source. A phone video at 1080p usually shrinks by 50–80% at Medium quality and 720p. The tool shows the exact before and after size.
Which setting gives the smallest file?
Lowering the resolution saves the most space. Going from 1080p to 720p cuts the pixel count by more than half. Then use Low or Very low quality.
Why does it say my browser is not supported?
Compression runs on your device using the WebCodecs API. It needs WebCodecs, which recent Chrome, Edge, Safari 17+ and Firefox 130+ support.
