Questions people ask
What is the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?
They describe the same colour. HEX (#1E90FF) is RGB written in base 16. RGB gives red, green and blue from 0 to 255. HSL gives hue in degrees (0 to 360), plus saturation and lightness in percent, which is easier to adjust by hand.
How is the palette worked out?
The image is shrunk and its pixels are grouped into 8 clusters with k-means. Each swatch shows the average colour of a cluster and the share of the image it covers.
Why does the colour differ slightly from the original design?
JPG compression shifts colours a little, and phone photos depend on lighting. For an exact brand colour, pick from a PNG or a screenshot of the original file.
