Unlock PDF saves a copy of a password-protected PDF without the password, so you do not have to type it every time. You need to know the password: this tool decrypts the file with it, it does not guess or crack passwords. Your files are processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
How to use Unlock PDF
- Choose the protected PDF.
- Type the password you normally use to open it.
- Press “Unlock PDF” and download the copy without a password.
Questions people ask
Can this unlock a PDF if I do not know the password?
No. The open password is the key that decrypts the file, so without it the content cannot be read. This tool is for removing a password you already have, for example from bank statements or payslips you open often.
What about PDFs that open but block printing or copying?
Those use only an owner password with permission flags. Load the file, leave the password box empty and press Unlock. The saved copy has no restrictions.
Why did my file come out as images?
A few PDFs use an encryption layout our main engine cannot rewrite. In that case the tool opens the file with the password and rebuilds each page as a high-quality image. It looks the same but text can no longer be selected.
