Questions people ask

What level should my microphone be?

Normal speech should peak around −12 to −6 dBFS. If peaks reach 0 dBFS the sound clips and distorts, so lower the input gain.

Why does the meter not move?

Check the microphone is not muted, the right device is selected, and the browser has permission. On Windows also check Settings > Privacy > Microphone.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. The audio is processed and played back in your browser and disappears when you close the page.
