About this tool

Countdown Timer counts down from any time up to 99 hours and plays an alarm when it reaches zero. The remaining time shows in the browser tab, so you can keep an eye on it while working in other tabs.

How to use Countdown Timer

  1. Enter hours, minutes and seconds, or click a preset.
  2. Press Start. Pause and resume whenever you need.
  3. Hear the alarm at zero, and use Full screen for a big display.

Questions people ask

Will the alarm sound if the tab is in the background?

Yes, as long as the tab stays open. Some browsers block sound until you have clicked on the page once, so press Start yourself rather than relying on autoplay.

Can I see the time left without opening the tab?

Yes. While running, the time left shows in the tab title.

Does the timer drift?

No. It calculates the remaining time from a fixed end time on every tick, so delays in the browser do not add up.
