How to use Webcam Test

  1. Press Start webcam test and allow camera access.
  2. Check the preview and the resolution and frame rate.
  3. Take a snapshot and download it if you need one.

Questions people ask

Why is my resolution lower than advertised?

Browsers pick a default size, often 640 × 480. Choose a higher option under Request; if the camera cannot deliver it, the browser uses the nearest size it supports.

Why is the preview mirrored?

A mirrored view feels natural, like a mirror. Other people on video calls see you unmirrored. Untick Mirror preview to see it that way.

The camera is in use by another app. What now?

Close other apps that use the camera, such as video call apps, then press Restart camera.
