User Agent Parser

See your browser, OS and device from a user agent.

Free Runs in your browser

User agent strings can be changed by the browser or by extensions, so treat the result as a best guess. Since 2022 many browsers also freeze the operating system version in the string (for example Windows 11 still reports “Windows NT 10.0”).

About this tool

User Agent Parser shows the user agent string your browser sends to every website and breaks it into browser, version, operating system and device type. Paste any other user agent from a log file to read it too.

How to use User Agent Parser

  1. Your own user agent is parsed when the page opens.
  2. Paste another user agent or pick a sample.
  3. Read the browser, OS and device details.

Questions people ask

Why does Windows 11 show as Windows NT 10.0?

Browsers froze the Windows version in the user agent, so Windows 10 and 11 report the same string. Client Hints are needed to tell them apart.

Why does Chrome say Safari and Mozilla?

For historical compatibility, nearly every browser includes “Mozilla/5.0” and many include “Safari” so older sites do not block them.

Can a user agent be faked?

Yes. Browsers, extensions and scripts can send any string, so never rely on it for security.
