Questions people ask

What is the ROI formula?

ROI = (final value − amount invested) ÷ amount invested × 100. 10,000 growing to 15,000 is a 50% ROI.

What is annualised ROI or CAGR?

CAGR = (final value ÷ amount invested)^(1 ÷ years) − 1. The 50% gain over 4 years is (1.5)^(0.25) − 1 = 10.67% a year. It is the steady yearly rate that would give the same result.

Should I include fees and dividends?

Yes, for a true picture. Add dividends or interest received to the final value and add fees and costs to the amount invested.
